BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THREE of the top sprinters from St. Kitts and Nevis are celebrating good weekend performances headlined by Kim Collins’ victory in the Men’s 100m in Morocco today (Jun. 8).
Collins made a good start and in the early part of the race was challenged by Jamaica’s Keymar Bailey-Cole. However, in what turned out to be a blanket finish, a strong challenge by Femi Ogunode saw the Jamaican settling for third place in 10.16 seconds.
Collins won the race in a time of 10.13 seconds while Ogunode finished in 10.14 seconds.
Also today, Jason Rogers, competing at the World Challenge Meeting in Hengelo, Netherlands, grabbed third place in the Men’s 100m in a time of 10.06 seconds. Trinidad and Tobago’s Richard Thompson first breasted the tape in 9.95 seconds and was closely followed by Britain’s. Chijindu Ujah in 9.96 seconds.
On the previous day, Brijesh Lawrence placed second in the BVI Twilight in 10.38 seconds behind Guyana’s Adam Harris who took gold in 10.23. Ivory Williams of USA was third.
