By: Team UNITY, Press Release (TUCOM)

June 10th, 2014  --  At the town hall meeting held in Conaree on Thursday Hon Eugene Hamilton Representative for Constituency #8 outlined his program for creating financially independent families in his constituency.

Throughout the years the Honourable Member has shown his ability to think and to engage the public in meaningful dialogue on issues that ads quality to the lives of individuals and family.

The Honourable Hamilton was responsible for all public servants including the lowest paid worker being covered for Major Medical expenses and also for preventative care.

Hamilton has been the advocate for Venture Capital Funding for those with great ideas but who would fail to secure financing from the regular financial institutions to get started in the endeavor of their choosing.

Hamilton has addressed the proposition that our redundant Sugar Workers could have been and still could become financially independent by introducing policies that are geared to them.

Hamilton has been calling for imaginative leadership in government that would empower ordinary persons and has already demonstrated through his discussion that the town of Cayon could be transformed into a University Town in which all residents could contribute to the development of Green Valley while at the same time enhancing their own financial wellbeing.

At the town hall meeting last Thursday, Hamilton raised the issue surrounding our sports venues; specifically addressing the inaccessibility of the cricket grounds in Conaree and Warner Park. He pointed out that the government’s policy does not support local initiatives and that youngsters would have to make it to an international team before having the opportunity to play at Warner Park. He indicated that as one of the many disturbing things that must change under a Unity Government.

He addressed the issue facing the Conaree FC where the facilities are less that acceptable and gave the assurance that under his leadership the facilities for football will be made into a first class venue.

He offered solutions for the aged and infirmed; the young and the jobless; the demand for homes at attractive rates; the need for security near residential areas; and spoke to entrepreneurial opportunities.

He called on government to institute measures to ensure that in every foreign investment project that locals are afforded the opportunity to partner in those investments.

Hamilton further called for the dismantling of the Colonial institutions that drains Capital from our shores even though we have been touting that we have been emancipated for over two hundred years.

He specifically mentioned the lack of cession and retrocession capacity in our region resulting in hundreds of millions of our well needed capital flowing into the developed countries such as the USA, Canada and Europe.

Hamilton claimed that not only will our Federation gain resources that can fuel and accelerate development for our people but that the entire region would benefit as well.
