Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 12, 2014: The 2014 Miss Cheryl Stevens Beauty Pageant will be held on June 14 at Carnival Village at 8: 00 p.m. Denise Harrigan, Carencia Hodge, Les-Ronya Thompson and Nakita James will join two others in this year’s pageant!
CONTESTANT NUMBER THREE - MISS DENISE HARRIGAN
Denise Davida Harrigan, contestant number three is ambitious, hardworking and talented.
The twenty-two (22) year old grew up in St. Peters with her mother, three (3) sisters and two (2) brothers. Being the eldest sibling, Denise said her mother always instilled in her to "Never Settle for Less" and today she is thankful for her encouragement and is proud to call her mother, 'Role Model'.
She lives by the quote, "Do not strive to become what others want you to be" and is a proud mother of one daughter, Dajah Edmeade!
Pageantry has always been an interest for Denise. At the tender age of 8, she entered the Miss Tiny Tot Queen Pageant. She then entered the Miss Labour Queen Show in 2010.
CONTESTANT NUMBER FOUR - MISS CARENCIA HODGE
Contestant number four, Carencia Hodge, known to several acquaintances as ‘BIG SEXY’ carries the characteristics of a true Libra woman – she is strong, confident, humble, talented and has an indomitable will to win.
As a resident of Old Road, Carencia is a proud mother of three (3) and spends her leisure time singing, dancing, dramatizing and braiding hair. With a commitment to personal development, Carencia constantly reminds herself that encouragement comes in many forms especially criticism.
This professional hairstylist in the making lives by the motto: ‘I am self-motivated and I determine my future’.
Like a roaring lioness, Carencia Hodge is alert and ready to accept the challenge of competing in this year’s Miss Cheryl Stevens Pageant.
CONTESTANT NUMBER FIVE - MISS LES-RONYA THOMPSON
Charismatic contestant number five, Miss Les-Ronya Thompson lives by the motto, “Believe it and you will achieve it.”
Les-Ronya is a dedicated mother of one son. She enjoys cooking and socializing and has high hopes of becoming a hairstylist. The twenty-two (22) year old firmly believes that one should nurture one’s inner and external self to experience a rich, fulfilling life. She is passionate about beauty.
Three words to describe Les-Ronya are: Energetic, fun-loving and caring!
CONTESTANT NUMBER SIX - MISS NAKITA JAMES
Contestant number six, Nakita James is confident, wise and full of life. She is a proud and committed mother of a six (6) year old son. Nakita shares that her son is her number one priority as he is also her pride and joy!
This twenty-four (24) year old knows that motherhood requires unconditional love, patience and most of all commitment; in light of this, she works overtime with her son to ensure he reaches the highest heights of success.
When Nakita is not singing, she is dancing!
This Accountant in the making, is grateful to be afforded the opportunity to participate in the Miss Cheryl Stevens Beauty Pageant 2014. She believes that the pageant will be a stepping stone that will boost her confidence!
