Turf Management Unit receives Corporate Support

    Basseterre, St. Kitts - Workers at the Turf Management Unit of the Department of Sports are now better equipped to carry out their responsibilities of maintaining the islands Sporting Facilities after receiving a HAYTERETTE Lawnmower from the TDC Group of Companies.

     

    At a brief ceremony held at the TDC Home and Building Depot on the Frigate Bay Road, Mr. Leon Bass, the Assistant Manager of the Retail Superstore handed over the state of the art machine to Mr. Orville Maynard, the Supervisor of the Unit.

     

    In making the presentation of the four thousand dollar (EC$4000) gift, Mr. Bass reiterated TDC’s stance to support initiatives that would advance the development of Communities.

     

    “The TDC Group of Companies is pleased to officially handover this brand new lawnmower. Our donation further represents our commitment to back programmes that would foster wellbeing, as well as, the spirit of goodwill and camaraderie within the Communities that you serve”, stated Bass.

     

    In return, Mr. Maynard thanked the local firm for its contribution and highlighted the importance of the Company’s support for the Unit’s ongoing programmes.

     

    “On behalf of the Turf Management Unit and by extension, the Department of Sports, we are very grateful for your donation. This machine will help us to in our efforts, as we continue to make the sporting grounds and their immediate surroundings even more player-friendly and attractive”, remarked Maynard.

     

    This Corporate assistance is very timely, as many Primary and Secondary Schools on St. Kitts are now in the process of preparing for their 2009 Athletic Sports Meets.
