Assistance Sought from General Public

Press Release
Basseterre, St. Kitts 17th June, 2014   --  Out of grave concern for a matter that has developed at the New Horizon Rehabilitation Centre, the Ministry wishes to inform the general public that three (3) female residents have absconded the centre and are presently at large in the community.

While the families, New Horizon Rehabilitation and Probation and Child Protection on staff and the Police continue to work together to address the matter and locate the residents, the Ministry solicits your cooperation so that we can get the children back to a place where they are safe from harm.  We ask persons to contact the police with any information.

We ask the media and general public to respect the rights and privacy of the children and their families.  The matter is being dealt with urgency but sensitivity bearing in mind that minors are involved.  Let us work together to speedily resolve this matter in the best interests of the children.

Thank you kindly for your understanding.
