BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – JAMAICAN Dancehall artiste Tommy Lee, popularly known as Sparta Gaza king, is now giving Dominican officials extra time to make a decision on his deportation which took place earlier this year.

According to Dominica News Online, the controversial artiste is giving Dominica a little bit of breathing space for a favorable response in the matter of his deportation, along with three other men, from that island earlier this year.

Tommy Lee had previously given the Dominican Government until June 8 to commence compensation negotiations in relation to his deportation while giving an ultimatum that he would file a claim at the Caribbean Court of Justice.

Lee and the three men, Oralie Russell, Junior Fraser and Mario Wallace, had alleged that in addition to being denied entry into Dominica on February 23, they were held in inhumane conditions.

However, Dominica News Online noted that Lee’s attorney, Bert Samuels said he is now giving Dominica until the end of the first week of July to respond, since the government of Jamaica has agreed to intervene.

“The (Jamaican) Ministry of Foreign Affairs by letter dated the 22 of May 2014 advised us that they have raised the matter with the Dominican Government and are awaiting their response. We intend to allow that to run six weeks. Those six weeks will come to an end at the end of the first week of July,” Samuels told Dominica News Online.

The Dominica Association of Evangelical Churches had denounced the artiste’s appearance at a concert in Portsmouth on February 23, stating that his music and lyrics glorify Satan and promot lawlessness and violence.
