Jeep overturns at Bypass Road

By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - A woman and her two children were very fortunate to have escaped serious injury this morning (June 30) when the vehicle in which they were travelling overturned along the F. T. Williams Highway.

SKNVibes understands that at about 8:20 a.m. Alicia Henry of Buckley’s Housing Development was travelling westward along the F.T. Williams Highway in motor jeep PA8509 when the accident occurred.

Since the early-morning hours of the day, showers of rain have descended on the Basseterre, St. Peter’s and surrounding areas making road conditions a bit less favourable to motorists.

This publication understands that when Henry travelling around a particular corner along the Highway, she lost control of the vehicle and it ran off the road and overturn.

According to reports, the vehicle landed on its left side on the mountainside of the road and, although all three of the occupants were transported to the Joseph N. France General Hospital, only one - the youngest daughter - complained of pain to her head.

The Traffic Department has in the past and continues to urged motorists to exercise caution while using the Federation’s roadways, more so when weather conditions deteriorate making driving conditions unfavourable.
