BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO athletes, Warren Hazel and Akeem Chumney, are expected to be the Federation’s only representatives at this year’s CAC Junior A&B Championships set to take place in Mexico this weekend.
The Championships are scheduled for Friday 4 - Sunday 6, July.
Hazel will be competing in the Under-20 400m while Chumney will be in the Under-18 400m Hurdles.
Donnell Esdaille will round off the three man contingent serving as team leader and Head Coach.
The St. Kitts-Nevis Amateur Athletic Association’s Facebook page indicated that the trio departed the Federation today (July 2) for Mexico.
The Central American and Caribbean Junior Championships is a junior athletics competition held among the nations of Central America and the Caribbean Islands and is promoted by the Central American and Caribbean Athletic Confederation.
It is divided into the Junior B Central American and Caribbean Junior Championships, held since 1978, and the Junior A Central American and Caribbean Junior Championships held since 1974.
The Junior A category is opened to both girls and boys aged 17-20 until 2010 and also to both sexes aged 18-20 starting in the year 2012.
The Junior B category is opened to girls and boys aged 14-16 until 2010 and also to both groups aged 14-17 starting in the year 2012.
