Another vehicle turns turtle on wet road

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE vehicle in which two men were travelling overturned but, thankfully, neither of them suffered serious injury.

On Wednesday (June 2), Travis Clarke of Lower Monkey Hill was travelling in motorcar P9137 eastward along the western corridor of the Island Main Road when the unfortunate incident occurred.

Superintendent of Police Cromwell Henry - who functions as District B Commander - told SKNVibes that when the vehicle got in vicinity of Consie Mitchum’s home in Franklands, Clarke lost control of the vehicle and it overturned on the wet road.

SKNVibes understands that rain was either falling at the time of the incident or had fallen shortly before.

The District Commander informed that the incident took place after 8:00 p.m.

Also travelling in the vehicle was Carlisle Brookes and, according to Henry, both men were taken to the Joseph N. France General Hospital with Clarke suffering injury to one of his hands and Brookes complaining of pain about his body.

SKNVibes is not certain whether or not Clarke was discharged from the hospital but Brookes was reportedly treated and sent away.

The vehicle was reportedly badly damaged as a result of the incident.

Superintendent Henry is reminding motorists “that the speed limit is not an absolute limit. Drivers are expected to drive according to road conditions so that at nights and in bad weather conditions speed should be drastically below the speed limit.”
