BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – ENGLISH-BORN footballer Zeph Thomas is once again knocking on the doors of St. Kitts and Nevis to represent the Federation in all regional and international matches.

According to an article published by the Scarborough News, Thomas has two caps for St. Kitts and Nevis and he is targeting a return with the squad in time for the Caribbean Cup in September.

“We have the Caribbean Cup coming up in September and hopefully I’ll get the call”, Thomas has reportedly said.

Thomas added that he has been in contact with the head coach but was wary of the other talents available to the Federation.

“I’ve been in contact with the gaffer and I’m hoping to be involved against Guyana, St. Lucia and Barbados. There are a few other strikers that are involved for St Kitts. They have players that play all over the world, some in the MLS and one for Walsall in England. I enjoy it when I go out there because it is such a good opportunity.

“The atmosphere when I played in the big game against Trinidad and Tobago was absolutely unbelievable; you just want to be a part of it.”

The 24-year-old has roots in St. Kitts and Nevis and claimed to have made his paternal grandparent proud when he represented the Federation.

“Country would probably come first over club because it is such an honour to play for the country that my granddad was born in. I make him happy and because of that it is great for me.”

Thomas also commented about the new chapter of his career with Scarborough Athletic.

“I came here because of the history of the club and the fan base. It is a great opportunity for me to do well, which is what I want to do.

“I’m hopefully bringing a few goals, some hard work and I want to form a good partnership with Gary Bradshaw. It is going to be a battle to grab a place in the team, but that is what you want because it makes you train harder.

“If you get that shirt you have to keep it. I just can’t wait to get going now. We need to push on in the league and look at promotion. I’ve only been to one training session, but we have a great bunch of lads that I think can do well.”
