Three dead, six injured in three shooting incidents

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE past three days in St. Kitts have seen much bloodshed with three individuals losing their lives in one tragic incident and approximately six others nursing gunshot wounds resulting from that and two other incidents.

     

    Sometime after 3:00 a.m. today (July 12), a shooting incident occurred at The Strip, Frigate Bay which caused three young men their lives.

     

    Public Relations Officer to the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force Inspector Lyndon David told this publication that an unknown assailant opened fire in the area, injuring some four individuals while killing three. It is reported that at least one female is among the wounded.

     

    He named the deceased as Cecil Charles, Glenville Hendrickson and Tavis Francis.

     

    David said the police are appealing to any member of the public who may have information pertaining to this incident to contact the Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) at (869) 662-9336 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477.

     

    Some seven hours prior to that incident, a young man identified as 5-Pac was shot in the vicinity of Mrs. Ferdinand’s Shop in Conaree and was transported to the Joseph N. France General Hospital for treatment.

     

    Another young man is at that medical institution nursing a gunshot wound sustained to one of his hands. That incident occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Thursday (July 10) in Cayon.

     

    It took place in vicinity of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and according to reports, the young man’s arm was broken as a result. That incident is also being investigated by the police.

     

    The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has reiterated its appeal to members of the public who may have information regarding these incidents to contact either the nearest police station, the VCU or Crime Stoppers. And they remind that all information would be handled with the strictest of confidence.
