Basseterre, St.Kitts (TUCOM) -- In a shameful and outrageous breach of the rules of Parliament, the invalidated Prime Minister Dr. Denzil Douglas launched a serious attack against Nevis Premier Hon. Vance Amory, challenging his integrity. What was equally offensive was that the Speaker, Curtis Martin, refused to direct the illegitimate Prime Minister to apologize to Premier Amory and withdraw the unparliamentary words.
Basic rules of Parliament require that members do not impute improper motive of another member. Basic rules of Parliament prohibit ministers of government from raising controversial matters under Presentations by Ministers. The imposter in the office of Prime Minister Dr Denzil Douglas calculatedly sought to introduce a petition in Parliament under the guise that Joseph Parry of the minority Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) in the Nevis Island Administration asked him to investigate the matter.
Dr Douglas seemed to forget that Mr. Parry is the Leader of the Opposition in the Nevis Island Assembly and has access to that Parliament to present whatever petition he had. The land transaction was a matter over which the Nevis Island Administration had exclusively purview. In sum, this was not a matter for the Federal Parliament.
Further, Dr Douglas cannot be concerned about transparency and money laundering when he has:
1. Presided over a Citizenship By Investment Programme blacklisted by the United States of America Treasury Department for facilitating illicit actors involved in financial crimes and evading U.S sanctions for financial crimes.
2. Douglas cannot be concerned over public monies being put in the Consolidated Fund when he caused the setup of the Sugar Industry Diversification Foundation (SIDF) into which public monies from the sale of our citizenship/passports go, and there is no Parliamentary oversight over this programme.
Furthermore, the political slush fund is now being used to fund the electioneering programmes of the illegitimate Douglas regime. Additionally audited financial statements have not been published for years in succession.
Members of Team Unity in particular Dr the Hon Timothy Harris raised strong objection to breach of the rules of the House by Dr Douglas.
