Zambi hit with $75,000 fine

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A 2013 drug bust has resulted in one of the sons of deceased national Noel ‘Zambo’ Heath, Zambi Heath, being slammed with hefty fines totaling $75,000.

     

    According to a release issued by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) this week, Zambi, resident of Cardin Avenue, was recently convicted and fined on possession of crack, cocaine and marijuana charges.  

     

    He was fined $10,000 for possession of cocaine, to be paid within one month or serve six months at Her Majesty’s Prison.

     

    A $20,000-fine was handed to him for possession of cocaine with intent to supply. And that sum is to be paid within two months or serve one year in prison.

     

    For the offence of possession of crack cocaine, Zambi has one month to pay a $15,000 fine and if he fails to do so, he would be required to serve six months in prison.

     

    For the offence of possession of crack cocaine with intent to supply, he was fined $30,000 which is to be paid within two months or in default, serve one year in prison.

     

    Another of Zambo’s sons, Marlon Heath, also according to the police’s release, was issued a $500 fine after being convicted of one count of possession of cannabis. That sum is to be paid within seven days or he would be required to spend one month behind bars.

     

    A press release issued by the police on June 14, 2013 indicated that the offences were committed June 7, 2013.
