BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – CARGO vessel the Lady Mignonne – which plies the route between St. Kitts, Nevis and sometimes St. Maarten – reportedly capsized this afternoon (Sept. 12) while travelling to Nevis.
SKNVibes understands the vessel and its crew members encountered some difficulty sometime between 1:30p.m. and 2:15p.m. – while travelling from St. Kitts - which resulted in the vessel capsizing.
At the moment, details surrounding what occurred are sketchy but SKNVibes understands that it may have taken place in the Cades Bay area, just off the shores of Nevis.
It is not clear how many crew members were onboard the vessel or whether or not injuries resulted from the incident.
This publication also understands that members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force and the St. Kitts Nevis Defence Force Coast Guard were summoned to the scene to provide assistance.
