A police press release issued over the past weekend informs that the incident involved TA210, which “was travelling along the Island Main Road in challengers in the vicinity of Emile Davis Metal Craft Shop (and) resulted in the toddler being transported to the hospital for medical attention”.

The communique indicated that the incident occurred on September 8, 2014 and it explained that according to investigations “the toddler (came) out from an alley and was struck by the vehicle which was travelling from Palmetto Point towards Old Road”.

The toddler was reportedly transported to the Joseph N. France General Hospital for treatment but was subsequently flown to Puerto Rico for further medical treatment.

The Commissioner of Police – according to the police report – urged guardians of children to ensure that they keep a close eye on them at all times.

“Commissioner CG Walwyn therefore takes this opportunity to inform parents and guardians that they are responsible to ensure that their young children under their control and in view at all times especially in public areas. They are also to ensure that they teach road safety to the older ones to encourage them to use the roads safely and wisely.”
