PM Douglas and Deputy PM Condor celebrate 20 years as Parliamentarians

    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, MARCH 11TH 2009 (CUOPM) - Joint church services, the official re-opening of constituency offices, a whistle stop and rally are among the major activities planned to mark the 20th anniversary as parliamentarians of the top leadership of the governing St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party.
     
    Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas and Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Sam Condor were elected as Parliamentary Representatives for Constituency # 6 (Newton Ground to Harris’) and Constituency # 3 (West Basseterre) respectively in the General Elections on March 21st 1989 and has been re-elected in general elections in 1993, 1995, 2000 and 2004.
     
    In West Basseterre, the Antioch Baptist Church on Infirmary Road is the venue for a Joint Service of Thanksgiving on Sunday 22nd March at 9:30 A.M. Another Joint Service of Thanksgiving will be held on March 29th at the Saddlers Pentecostal Church in Constituency #6.
     
    On Friday 20th March, the Constituency Offices in Saddlers and St. Paul’s will be officially re-opened, while on Saturday 21st March, West Basseterre will officially re-open its Constituency Office on the corner of Cayon and Millionaire Streets.
     
    A Joint Whistle Stop and Rally is planned for Saturday 28th March starting at West Basseterre and ending with a Rally at the St. Paul’s Recreation Ground.
     
    Other activities planned in Constituency #3 are a Health Fair at the Constituency Office on the corner of Cayon and Millionaire Streets at 1:00 P.M, on Saturday 14th March; a Church Service at the Trinity Anglican Church at 7:00 A.M. on Sunday 14th March; a Health Talk by Dr. Cameron Wilkinson on Wednesday 18th March; a Health and Wellness Walk from the Trinity Anglican Church to the Patsy Allers Playground starting at 5:00 A.M. on Saturday 21st March; and the monthly Constituency Meeting at the St. Johnston Community Center on Wednesday 25th March at 7:00 P.M.
     
    Constituency #6 activities are visits to senior residents on Wednesday March 18th and Thursday March 19th; a Talk on Money Management by Ms. Yvonne Williams at the St. Paul’s Community Center on Thursday March 19th and visits to schools on Wednesday March 25th and Thursday March 26th.
