BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - A twenty-three-year-old top-order batsman, Tahsmail Mills, has completed a fourth consecutive successful season in England where he has scored 1138 runs from 25 games with an average of more than 60.

Mills has had an illustrious career thus far, having represented a number of teams in St. Kitts and Nevis including the St. Kitts Under-19 and the Senior National side. He was also selected for the Leeward Islands Under-19 Team, playing in the West Indies Under-19 Competition.

The last four years have seen Mills ply his trade in England, playing for Bilton-In-Ainsty Cricket Club where he was considered an integral part of the team as they cemented their place in the top division of the Wetherby League.

In 2012, he scored 574 runs in 16 innings with an average of 41.00 and two 50s and two centuries. He also took 18 wickets at an average of 19.17, a very good effort considering the disrupted season last year.

In his 2013 season, the Cayon native scored 720 runs with an average of 40.00 from 19 games with a high score of 134 vs Shadwell, to go along with five  half centuries. Mills also played several matches for Bhalot CC with a high score of 65 in their match against Lahore.

He stated that he is looking to further advance his cricket career by playing a high-quality standard of cricket in Yorkshire.

After his remarkable performances with the bat, he earned himself a contract deal with Alwoodley Cricket Club for the 2015 season.

Mills was asked by this publication how he felt about his performances in England.

“I played a key role in securing the Club’s promotion into the top division. It certainly helped me in terms of being more responsible at the crease. Helped me to value my wicket more…certainly gives me the confidence I need for when I come back home.”

He also stated that he is looking forward to returning home on the September 20 to take part in St. Kitts’ national training for the upcoming Leeward Island three-day and 50 overs tournament.

Tashmail Mills is known by his family members, peers and members of the Cayon community as a humble, easy-going and hardworking individual who loves to see positive accomplishments occur in his life.
