NAGICO Provides Text Books To First Formers

Press Release

Tuesday, September 23, 2014 –The first year of high school can be nerve-racking and costly, but for nine graduates of the Isabella Morris Primary School, NAGICO Insurances has made the transition to the Elmore Stoutt High School a bit easier with a donation of textbooks.

On Thursday, September 22, Managing Director, Mr. Shan Mohamed announced the textbook award to the students at the Tortola Office, Waterfront Drive.

Present to accept the textbooks were Eshan Christopher, Deon Donovan, Nathan Francis, David Persaud and K’deeya Dawson. Camoi Walters, Ryan Benjamin, Brijon George and Jolyssa Brizan were unable to attend the presentation ceremony, but will still receive their textbooks.

Mr. Mohamed said, “Education is the best tool we have to tackling poverty. Literacy is the heart of education and is the key to unlocking the door to a life of learning.”

He continued, “High literacy levels enable people to overcome the barriers of poverty, disease and fulfill their potential. With this in mind we are quite pleased to be supporting you our students and to lend a hand in your growth and development in the school. We look forward to your continued success and wish you well in your first year of high school.”

Since adopting the Isabella Morris Primary School, NAGICO Insurances has continually provided support to the facility and student body. NAGICO previously provided the school with three digital projectors, three five-gallon water coolers, and other needed school supplies such as books and pencil cases for students.

At the time of NAGICO’s adoption of the school, the company made a commitment to provide an annual contribution of not less than $5,000, which will either be in the form of learning material, equipment, or financial assistance based on the needs of the school.

In partnership with NAGICO Insurances, Century Insurance Agency provides insurance products that offer quality protection, with competitive pricing, serviced by staff who can understand and meet the client’s individual insurance needs.

NAGICO Insurances, with headquarters in St. Maarten, started operations in the BVI in 1992 and is the largest underwriter of personal and commercial insurance in the BVI market. It now operates in over 19 territories and continues to grow.
