On Wednesday, October 8, Minister for Overseas Territories, Mr. James Duddridge, MP along with His Excellency The Governor, Mr. John S. Duncan, Minister for Communications and Works, Honourable Mark Vanterpool, and other representatives from the Ministry of Communications and Works and Premier’s Office toured the Cruise Pier Project Site with Project Manager, Mr. Dion Stoutt.
The touring party started at the secure entrance and continued to the cruise ship dock. They walked from the pier, along the sea side which is to become the boardwalk, to the proposed site of the welcome centre and gift shops. Mr. Stoutt pointed out and explained various components of the Tortola Pier Park as the party traversed the area.
Some piles have already been driven for the cruise ship dock expansion and for the upland development.
