BVI Post Spearheads Gift Drive ‘Bringing Christmas To You’

    Tuesday, October 21, 2014 -The BVI Post is spearheading plans to give back to the community this Christmas holiday season.

     

    Commencing today October 21 to Friday December 19, the BVI Post will launch the “Bringing Christmas to You” gift drive which will see children in the Territory receiving toys, books and educational items this Christmas.

    According to Postmaster General of the BVI Post, Ms. Pascha Stoutt, the community is invited to join the Post in making a difference in the lives of the Territory’s children through the gift drive.

     “With the participation of the community, this drive can be a huge success as it is intended to bring happiness and create meaningful traditions with the provision of Christmas gifts to children in the hospital on Christmas Day, special needs children and underprivileged boys and girls up to age 16,” Ms. Stoutt explained.

    Ms. Stoutt stated that, persons who wish to donate a gift are encouraged to drop off new, unwrapped toys, books, or educational items at any post office location throughout the territory, including the Post Shop at the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport on Beef Island.

    “We know that there are some families facing hardships and the holiday season can be especially stressful on families with children, so let’s keep the spirit of generosity and compassion alive in the Virgin Islands and give, to put a smile on the faces of our children to make this holiday season more memorable,” Ms. Stoutt expressed.

    Cash donations will not be accepted and persons are asked to avoid donating violent themed toys.

    For more information contact the BVI Post, telephone 468-5160 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. or visit any of the post office location or the General Post Office located at the Maduro Building on Road Town near the roundabout and the BVI Post will be happy to assist you.
