BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO shootings have occurred in St. Kitts over the weekend leaving one man nursing a wound at the Joseph N France General Hospital.

Head of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force’s Press and Public Relations Office, Inspector Cromwell Henry told SKNVibes that the first incident took place on Friday, March 13.

He explained that at approximately 10:20 in the evening, Craig Bradshaw of Parsons Village was on the Island’s Main Road in Saddlers Village when he was chased and shot at by two masked assailants.

The 26-year-old reportedly escaped the incident unscathed, having sought cover in a nearby house.

Less than 24 hours later, shots rang out again and the victim of this attack was not as fortunate as Bradshaw.

According to information provided by Inspector Henry, at about 9:50 on Saturday evening, Deynia Phipps (22) of Harris’ Village was on the verandah of an abandoned house in Saddlers Village in the company of two young ladies when he was shot at by two “unknown assailant”.

Phipps was struck in the right shoulder and he was taken to the Mary Charles Hospital in Molineux, from where he was later transferred to the JNF Hospital in Basseterre and is said to be in stable condition. The two females reportedly escaped the incident unharmed.

Inspector Henry said no suspects were held and the police are appealing to members of the public to pass on any information they may have concerning these incidents to the St. Pauls Police Station at 465-6281.

Persons giving information can do so anonymously, and the police have assured that all information would be handled with the strictest confidence.

    Investigations are ongoing.
