BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - HAILED one of greatest carnival fetes around, Inception launched its fifth edition fete dubbed Evolve last evening (Oct. 24) and also announced the international, regional and local performers for the event which is slated for December 27.

With a beach setting at Vibes Beach Bar, dancehall artiste Spice, International Groovy Soca Monarch Kerwin Du Bois and superstar calypsonian David were announced as the headline acts for this year’s Inception.

Mr. Bagnall, the Grand Masters Band, Small Axe Band, Nu Vybes Band, KORE Band, Sweet Sister Sensia and DJ Wet Dut were announced as the local performers for the event that will be staged at the grounds of the historic Fort Thomas Hotel.

At the launch event, President of Inception, Anthony Johnson, gave a brief synopsis of what the Inception Fete is about.

“Inception was formed by this group because we want to give the people an added carnival to let down their hair. We want for them to basically have the experience of their lifetime and so we came up with an all-inclusive fete.

“When you come to this fete you leave your money at home. You get your drinks you get all the entertainment from 10:00 in the night to 10:00 in the morning. That was the idea behind Inception.”

He also described what the response to the fete has been like since its genesis.

“The response has been tremendous, overwhelming in fact, it has been described as the best carnival event ever, not just in St. Kitts and Nevis but in the Caribbean.”

Mr. Bagnall, speaking at the launch, thanked the organizers for having him perform on the show and informed that he might have to change the lyrics to his Sugar Mas 43 tune from ‘Mash it up to ‘Turn it up’.

Also speaking to the crowd at Vibes Beach Bar was David Rudder, who communicated via the telephone and though it was difficult to encode what he was saying, it was clearly understood that he was excited to perform at the event.
