BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THREE men, who were arrested and charged some two weeks ago for possession of illegal drugs, were again charged, but this time for firearm and ammunition possession.

Charged with Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition are Jamal Mc Sheen of Cayon, Omax Bye of Fort Thomas Road and Zambi Heath of Cardin Avenue.

According to a police communiqué, the offences were alleged committed on Sunday, October 12, 2014.

In a previous release, police stated that Heath and Bye were charged with Possession of Cannabis while Mc Sheen was charged with Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply. These offences were also allegedly committed on the same day with that of the firearm and ammunition.

These offences were also committed on the same day when Javier Isaac of St. Paul’s Village was shot at Willet’s Housing Project of the said village.

SKNVibes understands that Isaac had attended a party at which a popular band from St. Kitts had played, and at about 3:15 a.m. he was shot to the side of his body. He was rushed to the JNF General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries whilst receiving medical attention.

On inquiring about the young man’s demise at that time, Police Press and Public Relations Officer, Inspector Lyndon David informed this media house that three individuals were in custody assisting police with their investigation into the matter.

An investigation conducted by this media house revealed that in the wee hours of Sunday (Oct. 12), members of the Special Services Unit had laid in wait at two points in McKnight, based on information gathered by their Intelligence arm.

Shortly after being in place, the lawmen saw a white jeep (rental) approaching one of the two points. The officers quickly approached the vehicle, surrounded it and ordered the occupants to disembark.

A search of the occupants and the vehicle revealed a quantity of cannabis sativa and a .357 Magnum Revolver.

The men were immediately arrested and taken to the Basseterre Police Station.

Meanwhile, the investigation also revealed that two bullets fired by the person or persons who shot and killed Isaac were found at the scene and ballistics test would soon be completed to ascertain the calibre and made of the weapon used.
