BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - A young man from Parson’s Village has been fined $13,000 for various drug-related convictions and could face a prison term if not paid on time.
According to a press statement issued by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, Akeen Huggins was convicted of possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply and cultivation of cannabis, all of which were committed on March 28, 2014.
The Parton’s Village resident was sentenced to serve 30 days at Her Majesty’s Prison for the offence of cultivation of cannabis and on the charge of possession of cannabis with intent to supply, he was issued a fine of $13,000 to be paid by November 30, 2014.
A further prison sentence, 30 days, hangs over Huggins’ head is he fails to pay the sum on time.
On the charge of possession of cannabis, he was convicted and cautioned.
