The 19th General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) will take place in Bangkok, Thailand from November 7th to 8th, 2014.
The Thailand Meeting involves the participation of delegates from all 204 National Olympic Committees of the worldwide Olympic Family (including the St Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee (SKNOC). The SKNOC is represented at this pivotal meeting by its President, Mr Alphonso E Bridgewater.
The Assembly will cover a 25 plus agenda item over the two day session. Items on the agenda include:
a) Elections for the Presidency of ANOC for 2014 – 2018
b) Elections for Senior Vice President of ANOC for the period ANOC for 2014 – 2018
c) Report by the Candidate Cities for the Olympic Winter Games 2022
d) Report by the Organizing Committee of the Games of the XXXI Olympiad in Rio de Janeiro 2016
e) Reports from the From the 5 Continental arms of the ANOC/IOC, namely, Africa, America, Asia, Europe, and Oceania). St. Kitts and Nevis (like the rest of the Caribbean, North, South and Central America) falls in the Americas grouping
In other related SKNOC News, the SKNOC, in collaboration with the St Kitts Nevis Football Association (SKNFA) will host its second Olympic Solidarity Football Coaching Course in St Kitts in 2014. The Youth Level Football Coaching Course will be conducted at Football House over the period Wednesday 5th to Tuesday 11th November, 2014 and will be facilitated by Mr Anthon Corneal, a FIFA expert from Trinidad and Tobago.
This will bring the total number of Coaching Course that the SKNOC has held in 2014 to three (3) at a cost of approximately U.S $30,000.00.
