Challengers Exodus Ends Historic Season With Impressive Finals Victory. Bonzi Named MVP

Press Release

The Trinity Challengers Exodus are the 2014 SKNABA Premier Division Champions. The Exodus were victorious over the Nevis Cotton Ground Rebels on Tuesday evening to take game three and complete an unprecedented undefeated season as they swept through the finals with a 3-0 record and an overall 20-0 season.  This was a historic achievement it is the first time since the introduction of the Premier Division that a team has gone undefeated for both the regular season and playoffs.

The Game 3 began with a very keenly contested first half with none of the teams having any clear advantage. The first half ended with the Cotton Ground Rebels holding a very slim 35-33 advantage.

However the second half was a completely different ball game as the Exodus outplayed their finals opponents and simply dominated the champions from Nevis.  It was a ver dominative performance in the second half by Exodus and despite the valiant effort by the CG Rebels the Exodus were simply too much for the Nevisians to handle. The final score saw Exodus with a comprehensive 87-61 blow-out victory to end what has been a historic season for the Exodus.

Team Captain and veteran SKNABA Legend Shawn “Shabba” Forbes led the Exodus and all scorers with an impressive 30 pts , 11 rebs, 6 assists, 6 stls and 6 block shot performance.  Guard Taslyn Belboda ably assisted Shabba with a 21 pts performance. However it was the consistent play of Ansel “Bonzi” Revan  throughout the entire playoffs that buoyed the Exodus and carried them to their impressive 2-peat performance. Revan’s performance earned him the MVP.

Cotton Ground Rebels top performer throughout the finals was Jenrson France who had 17 points 11 rebs and 4 assists in the game. Royden Browne also played well with 16 pts and 2 rebs.
