St. Croix, USVI - Criminal Investigation Bureau Detectives are thanking those community members who called the police emergency number, 911, with sightings of Hector Luis Mercado also known as Jesus Rivera Carmona who is armed and dangerous and wanted for a string of armed robberies recently committed in various parts of St. Croix.
Mercado is still at large and Investigators are reminding the St. Croix public that they can call police emergency from their cell phone by dialing 772-9111.
Mercado is a 28-year-old Hispanic male, 5’9” and 160 pounds. He has black hair that is sometimes worn in braids past his shoulders. He has brown eyes and a light complexion. Mercado has a tattoo of a cross and snake/dragon on his right arm and various tattoos on other parts of his body. He frequents Estate Whim, Estate Profit and JFK housing community.
If you see Hector Luis Mercado also known as Jesus Rivera Carmona call emergency 911 from a land line or from your cell phone, call 772-9111 immediately. The public is reminded that anyone harboring this suspect will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
