Thursday, December 4, 2014 - The Environmental Health Division is reminding all food vendors, volunteers, or persons assisting in the sale of food and drinks during the Christmas in Spanish Town celebrations on December 12 to 14, that they must possess a valid food handler’s certificate.

Food handlers’ classes are scheduled on Virgin Gorda for December 10 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Flax Building, Government Complex.

Persons renewing their food handlers certificates are asked to present their expired certificate, work permit and/or picture identification.

Individuals seeking to obtain a food handlers certificate for the first time are asked to bring the result of their stool analysis test, work permit and /or picture identification and one recent passport size photograph.

According to the Environmental Health Division, persons travelling from Road Town to participate in this event must also have valid certification and all vendors are required to have their food handlers’ certificate available on the days of the event.
