BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, DECEMBER 7TH 2014 (CUOPM) – St. Kitts opens another yacht marina – the second in as many weeks – on Tuesday 9th December.

The first section of the 300-acre marina and mega yacht harbour, part of the Christophe Harbour project on the St. Kitts’ Southeast peninsula will receive its first mega-yacht during a ceremony scheduled to start at 4 p.m.

The marina, when completed will accommodate small craft as well as mega yachts ranging from 85 to 300 feet in length.

All vessels will be able to utilize the marina’s state-of-the-art facilities and services while yacht owners, captains and their guests will have access to a private club, a full concierge and hospitality services. Christophe Harbour will be a designated port of entry with streamlined Customs and Immigration services.

The bay is a marine sanctuary which will remain free of boat moorings to ensure sea life and property views are protected.

Recently, St. Kitts and Nevis’ Director of Maritime Affairs, Mr. McClean Hobson said he was pleased with the developments taking place in the growing yachting industry in the twin-island federation.

Speaking at the launching ceremony of the National Yachting Policy he noted that the first phase of the Christophe Harbour Marina was nearing completion and would accommodate the first yacht on the 9th December employing at least 21 workers for the marina operations by mid-December.

Last week, St. Kitts Marine Works Marina at New Guinea, just under the historic Brimstone Hill opened its Marina Telca during a ceremony.
