BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A wanted bulletin was this afternoon (Dec. 16) disseminated to the media by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for Shawn ‘Handsome’ Phillip, who the law enforcement body said is “considered a person of interest”.

The bulletin states that Phillip’s last known address is Douglas Street, Newtown and describes him as dark complexioned with black hair, brown eyes, weighs 150 pounds, five feet 11 inches tall and is 26 years old

It also states that he is wanted for questioning and anyone who harbours or helps him in any way to evade the police would have committed an offence and would be arrested and charged.

The police are also seeking the public’s assistance in locating the wanted man.

“Anyone with any information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Violent Crime Unit at 467-1886/1888 or 662-9336 or the nearest police station, or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477. Remember your information will be treated with confidence and you may be eligible to receive a reward,” the police said.

The police did not disclose the reason for wanting to question Phillip. However, this publication was reliably informed that it is related to the shooting incident that occurred this morning in Newtown.

Information reaching SKNVibes this morning indicated that a man, whose name was given only as Ritchen, was shot on Sanddown Road, Newtown at about 7:30 while walking on his way to work.

Unconfirmed reports suggested that he was in the vicinity of the Old CEMACO building in Newtown when a gunman opened fire in his direction, which resulted in him sustaining a wound under one of his arms.

Further reports stated that when the victim fell to the ground, the gunman approached and attempted to discharge more rounds but the firearm was jammed.

He was transported to the JNF Hospital by a unit of the Emergency Medical Services and is reportedly in a stable condition.
