Taxi Driver Robbed; Suspect Killed

St. Croix, USVI - Police are investigating a shooting on St. Croix where 21-year-old Kyone Bazil was killed.
According to the preliminary police investigation at about 12:38 p.m. Saturday, March 21, Bazil was exiting a taxi van in the vicinity of Frederiksted town when he brandished a handgun and demanded money from the driver.
The driver gave Bazil cash and then shot him with his licensed firearm. Police arrived on the scene moments later and cordoned off the area.
Emergency Medical Technicians arrived on the scene and determined the victim was unresponsive. The classification of this homicide will be determined by the Office of the Attorney General when the investigation is concluded.
