BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – ONE man is in custody assisting police with their investigations into last evening’s (Dec. 30) shooting-death of Devon Ryan, while lawmen are hunting for another man allegedly involved in the matter.

This is according to Commissioner of Police Celvin ‘CG’ Walwyn, who made the disclosure today (Dec. 31) to WINN FM’s Andre Huie.

“Last night we picked up the alleged driver of the vehicle and we also picked up the car. We are looking for the alleged gunman right now! We know who it is, based on what we have been told,” Commissioner Walwyn told Huie.

He also revealed that one of the alleged gunman’s names is Bradford.

In a warning to members of the public, the Top Cop declared that the police would charge anyone found hiding fugitives.

Commissioner Walwyn also told Huie that the police had intended to arrest Ryan today in relation to a shooting incident that occurred in the Greenlands area.

Ryan, formerly of Temple Alley but who was residing in McKnight, was gunned down execution-style with bullet(s) to the head in the vicinity of the Basseterre Ferry Terminal.

In November 2009, Ryan was arrested along with Wayne Ible for allegedly shooting at Uttendale Whyte of Fort Thomas Road on October 19 of the same year. They were jointly charged with Wounding with Intent and Attempted Murder.

This publication was informed that Ryan was the brother of 34-year-old Kenya Francis-Mitcham of Shaw Avenue, McKnight, whose lifeless body was discovered by officers of the Royal Anguilla Police Force in a residential apartment in South Hill, Anguilla at about 8:45 a.m. on Monday, December 15, 2014.

Two men, one born in St. Kitts and the other in St. Maarten, both of whom are holders of Anguillan passports, have since been charged with his murder.

It was reported that he was shot to death in the presence of his girlfriend and his daughter shortly after arriving on the British overseas territory, and his remains had arrived in St. Kitts the day before his brother’s demise.
