Costa Fortuna graces the Port Zante until midnight

    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, DECEMBER 31ST 2014 (CUOPM) – The Port of Basseterre hosts one of the scores of cruise ships until midnight.

     

    The 3,470-passenger Costa Fortuna remained berth at Port Zante until midnight last night and whenever it is in port. 

     

    Its sister ship, the 2,680-passenger Costa Mediterranea has St. Kitts on its itinerary and has three visits scheduled. 

     

    The 120,000 gross ton vessel of the Costa Cruise Line made its inaugural call to St. Kitts on 16th December and is scheduled to make a total of seven visits during the 2014/2015 cruise ship season.

     

    During the night hours several passengers come ashore and indulge in the local nightlife including dinner at restaurants and gambling at casinos.

     

    The Costa Fortuna which arrived from St. Maarten with 3,072 passengers and a crew of 936 was one of four ships that visited St. Kitts on Tuesday.

     

    Costa Fortuna is a cruise ship for Costa Crociere built in 2003 on the same platform as Carnival Cruise Lines' Destiny-class. Costa Deliziosa, Costa Diadema, Costa Fascinosa, Costa Favolosa, Costa Luminosa, Costa Magica, Costa Mediterranea, Costa neoClassica, Costa neoRiviera, Costa neoRomantica, Costa Pacifica, Costa Serena and Costa Victoria.
