By: Inland Revenue Department, Press Release

Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 8th, 2015 - On Tuesday 6th January, 2015 the St. Kitts and Nevis Inland Revenue Department, delivered some New Year Cheer to our local Salvation Army, with the donation of food items. This donation forms part of the Department’s initiative to demonstrate its social responsibility, by giving back to the local community.

The items were donated by staff via a “Giving Tree” where during the Christmas season, staff were encouraged to place all donated items. The presentation was made to Captain Campbell of the Salvation Army by Senior Tax Inspectors Ms. Sonia Boddie and Ms. Trista Williams. In handing over the items, Ms. Boddie informed  Captain Campbell that the Department was very delighted to make this contribution to his organization, as they understood the important role that is played by the Salvation Army, in providing economic assistance and relief to the less fortunate.

Major Campbell on receiving the items, expressed his profound gratitude to the members of the Inland Revenue Department, for their generous contribution, and highlighted that the items would definitely be passed on to persons in need and even to some of the children at the Salvation Army Preschool.

The St. Kitts and Nevis Inland Revenue Department is committed to aiding in the nation building process and this charitable act is just one of many activities being undertaken, to give back to the taxpaying public, while building social cohesion between the community and the Department.
