No FBI Agent was in Cayon...says Police Chief

Carl Greaux
By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – COMMISSIONER of Police Celvin 'CG' Walwyn, through the Public Relations Department of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, has debunked the contents of an article written by Sergeant Carl Greaux that was posted by this media house on Tuesday, December 30, 2014.

In a press release sent today (Jan. 8) to the Editor of SKNVibes and 42 individuals and media houses, the Commissioner said: “I call your attention to an erroneous and credibility-damaging article allegedly published by one of your contributors, Carl Greaux.

“In your December 30, 2014 internet publication entitled ‘FBI in Cayon’, Mr. Greaux allegedly states that while having lunch in Cayon, he was met by two caucasian males who identified themselves as FBI Agents. The article further espoused certain details of an alleged conversation with these agents as it relates to security in the Cayon area.”

He continued: “Let me state here that this incident did not happen. It is false. There were no FBI Agents in St. Kitts or Nevis during the time stated in the article. Even the description of the agents that are presented in the article is false. There are no such agents matching that description.

The COP explained that before foreign law enforcement officers could enter the Federation, the Commissioner of Police would be notified in writing by the Legal Attaché of the US Embassy.

“There are two serving members of the FBI National Academy here in the Federation, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ian Queeley and Superintendent Cromwell Henry, both of them are normally paid a visit by their FBI Brothers when agents visit our Federation. They know nothing of such a visit,” he added.

Walwyn said the FBI had contacted the Public Relations Department and had denied the presence of any of its Agents being in the Federation without notification during the time stated by Greaux.

My office has been contacted by the FBI, and they have categorically denied that they have been in St. Kitts or Nevis during that time without prior notification, and have requested that the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force investigate the veracity of the allegations of Carl Greaux’s article.

“It must also be noted that the article alleges that Carl Greaux was on duty as a police officer with the Federation’s police when the alleged incident occurred; for that reason an Internal Affairs investigation into the truthfulness of this officer’s claims is being conducted.”

Over the years, Greaux has been contributing articles to this media house, which included guidance from a religious perspective, advice to gang member and promotion of the Police Force, and management never had any cause to doubt their authenticity.

However, because of the nature of the contents of the article in contention, SKNVibes did question its genuineness and was told that it was similar to those of the past.
