    ARRESTS

     

    BASSETERRE St. Kitts, January 26th, 2015  -  Rodney Garnette of Tabernacle Village was formally arrested and charged for the offence of Being Armed With An Offensive Weapon To Wit A Piece of Steel Pipe, which was committed on 21st January 2015.

    Mikelle Swanston of River Path, Gingerland was formally arrested and charged for the offence of Larceny, which was committed on 19th January 2015.

    Chesley Harris and Administon Lewis of Crab Hill were formally arrested and charged for the offences of Possession of Cannabis With Intent To Supply and Cultivation of Cannabis, which were committed on 22nd January 2015.

    RESCUE OPERATION

    On 21st January 2015 a Rescue Operation was planned and executed by members of Charlestown Police Station, Fire and Rescue Services, Disaster Management Agency and volunteers between 11:30 am and 3:00 pm. This operation was conducted due to information received that there is a hiker group on a mountain trail between Golden Rock Mountains and the water source and one of them seemed to be injured. The operation was successful. Six hikers from MV Sea Dream 2 were rescued and one of them were sustained injuries to her leg. They were all transported to Alexandra Hospital for treatment. 

    Commissioner C G Walwyn commends  Nevisian Officers and for a job well done for executing and coordinating such an operation.

    COURT CONVICTIONS

    District "C" Magistrate Court

    Moncelle Roberts of Maynard Ground was convicted for the offence of Possession of Cannabis, which was committed on 12th November 2014 and was fined $1500.00 to be paid in six (6) months or in default serve six (6) months imprisonment.

    Lorin Bartlette of Brown Hill was convicted for the offences of Threatening Language, Indecent Language, Carrying Abroad An Offensive Weapon, and Resisting Arrest.  He was fined $2000.00 to be paid in six (6) months or in default serve six (6) months imprisonment and was cautioned for the other listed offences.
