BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - TEAM Unity’s candidate for Constituency Two, Jonel Powell has alleged that the present Labour Party Administration has forgotten the people of St. Kitts and Nevis over the course of the last five years.

Speaking at a public rally in Ottley’s on Friday evening (Feb. 6), Powell stated that the people were abandoned by the Government and were only remembered when a Motion of No Confidence was filed in 2012.

“The outgoing administration has forgotten the people for the last five years. They have abandoned the people of this country. The only time they start to remember you was two years ago when they heard about Motion No Confidence.

“The only time you start to get things in this country is when they hear about politics and elections coming up.”

He urged the people to vote for more than just an election time government.

“It is time that people of this country get more than an election time government. It is time for full-time representation under a government of national unity.”

Powell also claimed that his opponent was chased by some of the constituents of Central Basseterre.

“The people of Irish town run her! They say she ain’t remember them for the past five years and so don’t come look for them now; they tell them that this is Jonel town.”
