TEAM UNITY GIVES SNEAK PREVIEW OF INAUGURAL MANIFESTO

Team Unity
By: Team Unity Secretariat, Press Release

Basseterre, St. Kitts, 9th February 2015 -  A spokesperson for Team Unity has announced that the political alliance’s premier Manifesto makes for easy and thought-provoking reading, having been divided into several tiers that focus on the historic Prosperity Agenda.

Dr. Timothy Harris stated, “I am excited about the policy initiatives of a team UNTIY government as laid out in this covenant with the people.”

This manifesto focuses on corrective action addressing (a) a number of burning national development issues and concerns; (b) economic overhaul; (c) how a Team Unity government will govern once elected; (d) relations between St. Kitts and Nevis; (e) the judiciary and access to justice; (f) constitutional, electoral and administrative reform; and (g) international relations and a “New” Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.

On the matter of critical national development issues & concerns, the Manifesto, inter alia, pays special attention to safety and security, youth empowerment, the future of programmes such as PEP, strengthening families, saving our young men, putting people to work with the creation of 2000 new jobs, VAT relief, and the prompt payment of the $16 million in overdue gratuities to former SSMC workers.

The people of the Federation deserve a government that puts them first . The current regime is now bankrupt of ideas and out of gas.

Of particular mention in the Team Unity Manifesto was the alliance’s deep concern for the plight of our Nation’s youth and the economic hardships of our people due to high costs of living, VAT, etc.

Stay tuned for more details on Team Unity’s response in addressing these and other burning issues and concerns for the people of St. Kitts and Nevis.
