LIME 4G Cayon Rockets Player’s Profile

Press Release

    Name: Shaquille Pringle

    Age: 23

Number of years playing football:  Fifteen (15)

Number of years playing with the Cayon Football Club:

“I have been a member of the Lime 4G Cayon Rockets for about Five (5) years”

How did you become interested in the game of football?

“Football is in my blood!  From my father, come down the line there are footballers in my family.  I couldn’t escape becoming a footballer even if I tried but I am happy I chose the sport because it has made me grow to become a better man despite my imperfections.  I can only become better!”

What motivates you as a player?

“My team mates  are my biggest motivation.  These guys push me to the maximum so I refuse to give up.    We live as family; we learn from our own mistakes and the mistakes of each other and we have great support.  I love my team; I love my club!”

Who is your football icon and why?

“My football icon is George ‘Yellow Man’ Isaac.  He is not only the person who I look up to in football but he’s also a role model to me.  George introduced me to the sport and he continues to work with me to improve both on and off of the field.  My icon is someone who I can look at their lifestyle and imitate it.  ‘Yellow Man’ isn’t just the best footballer in St. Kitts and Nevis, the man has gained respect Regionally and Internationally. To have him as a coach, you can’t ask for anything better!  I respect his game and who he is as a person; so yes, ‘Yellow Man’ is my icon!”

If you can change one thing about Football in St. Kitts and Nevis, what would it be and why?

“I think there needs to be continuous training for referees because the rules are changing all the time and the standards of football are rising internationally, just about everyday.  We continue to see referees make the same mistakes over and over so I feel training is really needed.”

Do you agree with the theme, “It Takes a Community to Raise A Champion Team?” Briefly explain your answer: “Yeah man, that theme is one that I rate because as man, we can’t ever do it alone.  We can have the most skills or the biggest team and we don’t have support of our community, I don’t think we would reach far.  When we see the orange shirts in the stands or someone meets me on the street and big up the Lime 4G Cayon Rockets, I feel proud. Not only proud as a footballer but proud knowing I am contributing to something that the community is in support of.  We need the continued support of our community members, those both here and abroad.  I just want to say thanks to the fans and to Lime 4G for believing in us. Lime 4G Cayon Rockets has upgraded and we need all the support from the community so that we Can continue to Get It Right!”
