BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE are currently investigating a shooting incident in Conaree that has left one man dead and another nursing gunshot wound(s) at the JNF Hospital.
Information reaching SKNVibes indicates that the incident took place shortly after 1:00 p.m. today (Feb. 16) close to the Island’s Main Road in Conaree when a number of masked men opened fire on two men who were in a vehicle.
On arrival at the scene, this publication learned that one of the men was fatally wounded and the other is hospitalised.
This media house had observed a number of bullet holes on the vehicle and a smashed windscreen on which blood was splattered.
So far, no one was held in connection with the incident.
When contacted and asked for the names of the victims, Police Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Lyndon David said that information could not have been provided at the time.
He however stated that police are investigating and they are seeking the public’s assistance in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
“Anyone who has any information pertaining to this shooting incident is asked to call the Violent Crime Unit at467-1886, 467-1887, 662-9336, the nearest Police station, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477(TIPS). Remember, you do not have to provide your personal information, and you may be eligible to receive a reward,” David said.
This shooting incident has taken the number of homicides committed in the Federation for the year to six; four on St. Kitts and two on Nevis.
