Shooting and burglary in Bird Rock

By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A man is hospitalised nursing a gunshot wound to his face, which he sustained during the early hours of yesterday (Mar. 5).

SKNVibes was made aware of an incident that transpired in the Bird Rock area but experienced grave difficulty in contacting members of the High Command of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force and its Public Relations Officer (PRO).

Once contacted however, the PRO, Inspector Lyndon David, confirmed that there was a shooting but provided no further information.

Acting Commissioner Stafford Liburd was also subsequently contacted and he confirmed that the victim was shot in the face but said he was unable to provide further detail at that time.

Unconfirmed reports reaching SKNVibes indicates that sometime between 1:50 a.m. and 2:20 a.m., the man was allegedly in a rented vehicle with a female companion when they were approached by an armed man (men) who shot him.

This publication understands that the vehicle was found somewhere on the western corridor of Basseterre with blood stains on the interior.

Around the same time, SKNVibes understands that a businessman’s home was entered by armed bandit(s) and he was gagged and pistol-whipped during the incident.

SKNVibes understands that the man has also been hospitalised.
