A police communiqué stated that Elliott was indicted for the offences of Murder and Manslaughter but pleaded to the latter when the charges were read to him in court.

“Madam Justice Carter then instructed the jury to return a verdict of not guilty for Murder and guilty for Manslaughter. A Social Inquiry Report will be carried out on the accused, and will be presented during his sentencing hearing, which will be done at a later date,” the communiqué stated.

It was reported that on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, Mills and Elliott were fighting when he was allegedly stabbed in the upper left side of his chest.
