2015 CFBC Open Day and Career Fair

By: CFBC, Press Release

The Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC) will host its annual Open Day and Career Fair on Thursday, 12th March, 2015, from 9a.m - 4p.m. The events will take place on the Main Campus on Burdon Street, the Nursing Skills Lab on Lockhart Street and the Technical Campus on Horsford Road. The day will begin with a brief opening ceremony followed by promotions from the CFBC and business entities. There is no admission fee.

The objective of the Open Day and Career Fair is twofold: one, to expose students/prospective students to higher educational opportunities open to them at the CFBC and two, to expose students to a wide range of career/job opportunities available to them in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.

With this objective in mind, The Open Day and Career Fair is a significant promotional, educational and insightful event. Prospective students and patrons at the Open Day and Career Fair will have the opportunity to learn about all the programmes and offerings of the Division of Health Sciences, the Division of Teacher Education, the Division of Adult and Continuing Education, the Division of Technical, Vocational and Management Studies, and the Division of Arts, Science and General Studies.

For example, at the Nursing Skills Lab, basic health check-ups for blood pressure, height and weight, along with medical advice will be offered. Also, students of the Hospitality and Culinary Arts Department will have on display some of their cuisine. And, the CFBC History Club will put on a Heritage Cultural Exhibition where there will be a display of cultural artefacts and the sale of local delicacies.

Additionally, several regional and international tertiary educational institutions such as Monroe College will have representatives on site to advertise and answer questions about their institution’s academic programmes, tuition and available scholarships.

Also, agents from LIME, Kittitian Hill, and the St. Kitts Biomedical Research Foundation will have booths set up to display paraphernalia about their businesses/institutions including the type of work that their businesses offer and the requirements/qualities that they seek in applicants.

The CFBC Open Day and Career Fair promises to be an exciting and informative one.  Fifth-form students of the secondary schools in St. Kitts and Nevis and all interested persons are encouraged to come out and witness an outstanding showcase of what the CFBC has to offer.
