BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – WARRINGTON GRANT, father of Tourism Minister the Hon. Lindsay Grant, is hospitalised following a robbery at his Sir Gillies Estate home in Sandy Point where he was also beaten.

Reports reaching SKNVibes, which were confirmed by Police Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Lyndon David, state that at about 3:00 a.m. today (Mar. 19), two armed, masked men had entered Grant’s home, attacked and beat the senior citizen, and carted off a quantity of items and an undisclosed sum of money.

SKNVibes learned that the 83-year-old Grant had suffered a fractured han and a cut between his eyes.

According to sources, the two bandits entered Grant’s home through an unlocked door.

Grant’s home, with which he shares with his wife Sybil, is located on his farm – Springfield Egg Farm – upon which he has many dogs. However, sources claimed that the dogs only started barking incessantly after the bandits had left the couple's home.

Sources further claimed that on entering the house, the two men had placed a pillow over Grant's head and had asked for “the gun” which they allegedly stated that someone from Old Road had sent them to collect.

They however did not get any firearm and proceeded to beat Grant and robbed the couple.

This media house was told that the bandits had cut the line to the Grant's home phone, smashed his cellular phone, took his wife's own and slashed all the tyres of his jeep before making good their escape.

Grant was transported to the Joseph N France General Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and is currently warded.

The Police PRO said that the matter is being investigated and they are asking members of the public, who may have information leading to the arrest, charge and subsequent conviction of the perpetrators, to call “the Violent Crime Unit at 467-1886, 467-1887, 662-9336, the nearest police station, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477(TIPS). Remember, you do not have to provide your personal information and you may be eligible to receive a reward.”
