BVI Press Release

B.V.I. Wednesday, April 1 – Government will on Friday open a playground facility to service residents of Fahie Hill and the surrounding areas.

The Fahie Hill playground facility is located a few feet away from the historic Watch House which traditionally served as a meeting place for members of the neighbouring communities.

The opening ceremony will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, 3 April. The opening ceremony will feature remarks by the Honourable Andrew Fahie, Minister for Education and Culture whose ministry is responsible for the implementation and management of the facility. Remarks will also be given by Fifth District Representative, Honourable Elvis Harrigan. The ceremony is also set to include members of the district doing special selections to celebrate the opening of the facility.

Residents of the Territory, especially those in Fahie Hill, George’s North Side, Todman Hill and Great Mountain are being urged to attend the opening ceremony. Government is also encouraging the residents to use the facility as often and as responsibly as possible.

The opening of the playground facility is in keeping with Government’s aim to review and upgrade the Territory’s recreational areas and parks to accommodate entertainment and to strengthen the management of those areas.
