BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE man who turned himself over to the authorities in connection with a shooting incident that took place on Fort Thomas Road last week has been formally arrested and charged with gun-related offences.
Acting Commissioner of Police Stafford Liburd told SKNVibes that the individual is Erastus ‘Ras’ Laville of McKnight and that he was slapped with one charge each of possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition and discharging a loaded firearm with intent to prevent lawful apprehension.
He also reminded that Laville had showed up at the Basseterre Police Station in the company of his lawyer and turned himself in, and that the charges stemmed from a March 18, 2015 incident which involved an off-duty police officer.
The incident occurred sometime before 9:00 a.m. and either later that day or the following day, Laville turned himself in to the authorities.
SKNVibes understands that bail was not made on Laville’s behalf and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
