BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – FACULTY of the Health Science Division of the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College recently surprised the head of that division, Shirley Kelly, by honouring her for her foresight and diligent thrust to advance nursing education.
Kelly was one of the driving forces behind the recently-opened Nurses Clinical Simulation Laboratory and was one of the speakers at the official opening.
It was at this event that her staffers surprised her with a plaque and words of esteem.
“In the Nursing Education Department here at CFBC, we observe the tireless unsurpassed efforts and intense commitment to take nursing education to the next level. Highly effective strategies for the development of a cadre of nursing professionals with competency and confidence required for positive patient outcomes were implemented by our esteemed Dean.
“We offer accolade for the sterling leadership qualities and the crowning even which brought the nursing programme to the bachelorette level with the accompaniment of a state-of-the-art simulation laboratory recently rated by experts as the best in the OECS,” one of the staffers expressed.
She said the plaque would be placed in a prominent and strategic position which would be easily seen by those who enter the laboratory.
Kelly coyly accepted the plaque and described the gesture as “a pleasant surprise” for which she thanked her team.
SKNVibes observed that the plaque, which has a picture of Kelly on it, was mounted above the clinical room of the Nurses Clinical Simulation Laboratory.
