Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 20 2015 (SKNIS): St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris has congratulated the president-elect of Nigeria, Gen Muhammadu Buhari on his victory at the polls on March 31.
In a letter to the Nigerian leader, Prime Minister Harris wrote, “I congratulate you on your victory at the polls. I applaud the Nigerian people. It is a sign that democracy is alive and well in your country.”
Prime Minister Harris continued, “The government and people of St. Kitts and Nevis have enjoyed an amicable relationship with the government and people of Nigeria and to the many of your nationals who are pursuing off-shore Medical Education here and we are pleased that the democratic will of the people prevailed. I look forward to working with your government as we seek to deliver a better quality of life for our people.”
President-elect Buhari will take office on May 31, 2015.
