By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A civilian was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine with intent to supply following investigations into the “movement of narcotics throughout Federation”, according to a senior member of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF).

Inspector Lyndon David, Press and Public Relations Officer attached to the RSCNPF, told SKNVibes that at mid-day on Monday (Apr. 27), members of the RSCNPF had executed a search warrant on the Marshall Alley, Basseterre premises of Granville Bailey.

The officers, he said, discovered a large quantity of cocaine on the premises and Bailey was taken into custody along with the illegal drugs.

He was formally arrested on the following day and charged with Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Supply and was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison.

Meanwhile, SKNVibes was reliably informed that a member of the Her Majesty’s Customs and Excise Department was in custody assisting police with their investigations into a matter.

Speaking with Inspector David this morning (May 2), he confirmed that the individual was indeed in police custody but informed that he was subsequently discharged as a result of their investigation.

He however did not state the grounds upon which the Customs Officer was being investigated.
