Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 08, 2015 (SKNIS): St. Kitts and Nevis is ready to welcome law enforcement from across the region as it hosts the 30th conference of the Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police (ACCP) from May 11 to 14, at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort.
Delegates are expected to discuss a host of topics including Enhancing Community and Police Relations, the Community and the Police Collaborating to Effectively Manage Youth Crime, and Defining Human Trafficking. The topics are centered around the theme “Community Policing – Delivering Quality Policing Service.”
Acting Commissioner of Police Stafford Liburd said local community policing initiatives will be boosted with the staging of the conference. He added that the exchange of ideas and best practices during the discussion will provide new strategies that can be incorporated to enhance the effectiveness of programmes.
During the conference, the latest technology equipment and software will also be on display by security firms from the United States and other countries.
Lawmen from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Navy Criminal Investigation Service (NCIS), Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and other foreign agencies are expected to attend.
